ALSO PLEASE NOTE: The new Fun Lovin' Criminals has now arrived... 'Classic Fantastic' was released on March 1st 2010.

The third single release from the new Fun Lovin' Criminals' album Classic Fantastic has now been released to download.

This time the band have decided to release a double A-side, featuring We, The Three and the awesome Keep On Yellin' - their collaboration with Roots Manuva.

When you download the single, there are also a couple of great remixes available, both keeping it in the family, made by Radio Riddler (Fast and Frank's side project) and Boy Kid Cloud (Frank's younger brother).

Tracklisting:

At the end of June the Fun Lovin' Criminals and Roots Manuva spent a day at the famous Maida Vale Studios in London, recording a number of live tracks together. Above is a couple of examples of the excellent results from the day.

Both tracks were debuted on Huey's 6Music radio show on the 4th of July, as part of the radio station's 'Independents Day', devoted to music on independent record labels.

A fantastic version of Roots Manuva's 'Witness The Fitness' - renamed 'Witness (1 Hope) for the occasion, along with a reggae version of 'Scooby Snacks'. Enjoy these videos while you can, as we're not sure how long the BBC will keep these videos online - especially with the impending (and very sad) closure of the superb 6Music radio station.

NOTE: Due to copyright restrictions the video CANNOT be viewed from our website. However, click on the link provided when you click PLAY to go to the YouTube official channel to see the video in full.

This flcnyc.co.uk editor thinks that Plan B is pretty amazing, and so after seeing him appear on 4 Music's 'Evo Rooms' programme in March this year, naming 'Scooby Snacks' as an influential song of his life, he raised even higher in my estimations!

Following on from FLC's live performance on the show (as a result of his excellent taste!), we were then surprised to see Huey and Frank making an appearance in his next video, 'Prayin'.

Have a look at the video, and see if you can spot them, in their 'little home from home'!!

Pssst...If you need a clue... check it out from about 1 minute 40 seconds in!

Saturday the 19th June saw the premiere of Shimmy Marcus' new film 'SoulBoy' at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The film, set in Stoke On Trent in 1974, sees FLC's Huey dipping his toes into acting again, playing a character named Dee Dee - a long-haired (seemingly Cockney) record store owner. It's not the first time that he has acted for director Shimmy Marcus, if you haven't seen it already, check out his transvestite drug lord in the 2003 film 'Headrush'.

The film is based around the British Northern Soul movement of the 70's, if you view the trailer you'll see Huey and get the idea!

To find out more about the film, visit the official SoulBoy website by clicking this link.

For links to the gig venues and ticket info visit FLC's official website here.

There's plenty of new goodies for the FLC fan to buy from the merch stalls at the latest live gigs. However, for those of you not fortunate to get to any of the dates, there is still the opportunity to have a look and buy online at www.mamstore.co.uk

Along with tour t-shirts (for both men and women), there's a couple of other t-shirt designs, along with a hoodie, a bottle opener/keyring, mugs, a very-lovely-looking signed poster print and a fab tote bag for the ladies (see pic left).

The merchandise is priced from £6 - £30 and international shipping is not a problem - so click the link above and check out all this fab new stuff!

If you haven't seen these yet, then please check them out. It seems that after the 'documentary footage' of FLC making their escape from the cells in their Classic Fantastic video (aherm...) Huey, Fast and Frank are branching out as crime fighters!

Join FLC News anchor man Ernie Ernastitoes as he brings you breaking stories and the best in investigative journalism from FLC News man-on-the-ground Wayne Lazar. Ernie Ernastitoes and Wayne Lazar are joined by heartthrob sports and weather man Ron (never-knowingly-giving-inaccurate-weather-forecasts) McPhee.

We have lots of talk on the flcnyc.co.uk news page about the Fun Lovin' Criminals' side projects - Huey's radio shows and acting, Frank's bands Uncle Frank and Fatal Star and an occasional mention to Fast and Frank's reggae side-project Radio Riddler - but we felt that it was time to give Fast the credit that he truly deserves!

As well as playing just about any instrument you can think of with the Fun Lovin' Criminals, Fast works as a media producer/DJ/songwriter/producer and programmer (how he finds the time we'll never know!). On Fast's MySpace page you can get a taster of some of his brilliant mixes/music production skills via his music player online.

He's also created some cracking mixtapes over the last couple of years, which are available for download:

Winter '08

Summer '08

Winter '09 Part 1

Winter '09 Part 2

Summer '09

His latest little gift to everyone is a collection of sound effect samples which can be downloaded and the transferred to your phone via bluetooth:

We're promised that there are more of these to follow so download these, enjoy, and get ready for more!
