Perhaps the best news of 2011 so far!
A trip to DiFontaine's Pizzeria was an absolute must for any FLC fan on a visit to Dublin, not just because of the links with the band, but also because of their ability to provide hungry folk with some of the best pizza you will ever taste.
This was before the closure of the Voodoo Lounge and Eamonn Dorans (where DiFontaine's was based) - meaning that the tasty goodness seemed lost forever.
However, DiFontaine's is back! Now based at 22 Parliament Street on Temple Bar - if you're ever in the area, make sure you stop by and try a tasty slice! |

DiFontaine's - Oh how we've missed you!

The Fun Lovin' Criminals multi-instrumentalist Fast has been working his magic again, this time to produce the musical score to a new film 'Limelight'.
The documentary is being screened at this years Tribecca Film Festival . For those not in the know the 'Limelight' Club in New York is well documented as the place where Huey and Fast first met - so it seems only fitting that Fast provides the music for the documentary.
"As the owner of legendary hotspots like Limelight, Tunnel, Palladium, and Club USA, Peter Gatien was the king of the New York club scene - until years of legal battles led to his eventual deportation to Canada. This exuberant documentary charts Gatien's rise and fall against the transformation of New York City, offering a wild ride through a now-closed chapter in the history of NYC nightlife."

We have lots of talk on the flcnyc.co.uk news page about the Fun Lovin' Criminals' side projects - Huey's radio shows and acting, Frank's bands Uncle Frank and Fatal Star and an occasional mention to Fast and Frank's reggae side-project Radio Riddler - but we felt that it was time to give Fast the credit that he truly deserves!

As well as playing just about any instrument you can think of with the Fun Lovin' Criminals, Fast works as a media producer/DJ/songwriter/producer and programmer (how he finds the time we'll never know!). On Fast's MySpace page you can get a taster of some of his brilliant mixes/music production skills via his music player online.
He's also created some cracking mixtapes over the last couple of years, which are available for download:
His latest little gift to everyone is a collection of sound effect samples which can be downloaded and the transferred to your phone via bluetooth:

We're promised that there are more of these to follow so download these, enjoy, and get ready for more! |
