GENERAL QUESTIONS...

Q. When I open up flcnyc.co.uk in my browser I find that I have to scroll across to view it all... Why are the pages so big?

A. Unfortunately, this is a case of not being able to please all of the people all of the time. Our pages are set to a 955 x 600 (1024 x 768) resolution, which is currently the most common screen resolution used on monitors and browsers.

Our best advice is to make sure that your internet browser is maximised in the top right hand corner of the browser, and that you check your computer is set to this screen resolution if possible - this can be changed in your computer's Control Panel.

As our site contains a lot of images and articles, we wanted to do these pages justice, and so chose this larger screen resolution. However, some older computer's may not support this format. Sorry!

 

Q. Can I contribute material to flcnyc.co.uk?

A. Absolutely!

We welcome any material that you may have. Please e-mail us (details on the 'Contact Us' page) with a brief explanation of what pics/articles/gig reviews/news you have for us. We'll be in touch as soon as possible, and if we feel that the material is right for the site we'll add it!

 

THE LOUNGE QUESTIONS...

 

Q. What do I need to do to join the flcnyc.co.uk forum?

A. Sign up! Everyone is welcome to join The Lounge.

There are a few guidelines to follow - so make sure you read these when you register. flcnyc.co.uk's aim is to make The Lounge a welcoming and friendly place, where you can talk about almost anything and everything related to The Fun Lovin' Criminals. We have also set up areas for you to introduce yourself to our other members, and also areas where you can just have a friendly chat about other things, so that you don't have to stick with the FLC themes.

So whether you've used a forum/message board before, or you are completely new to this sort of thing, simply click HERE, register and make yourself comfortable in The Lounge!

 

Q. When I try to post in The Lounge I keep being asked if I want to "allow this webpage to access your Clipboard". Can I stop this happening?

A. This seems to be an issue for users of Internet Explorer 7 as their browser.

To solve this problem, either:
a) Download a new browser, such as Firefox (which is much better in the opinion of this Admin), or...
b) Visit the following link: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/09/25/disable-allow-this-webpage-to-access-yo ur-clipboard-pop-up-warning-message-in-ie7/ and follow the instructions on there.

This appears to resolve the issue.

 

Q. How do I add my own avatar to my profile on The Lounge?

A. If you want to personalise your avatar, it helps if you have an online account similar to Photobucket and then you can just post the url link into the appropriate place on your profile.

However, if you don't have a Photobucket account and would like to personalise your avatar, you are more than welcome to send your pictures to lexy@flcnyc.co.uk and she will upload them for you. If you drop her a PM from The Lounge and then she can give you an email address to send them to.

If you post your own avatar, we would be grateful if you could make sure your avatars were no bigger than 120x150 pixels - any wider than 120 and they start running into the text.

 

Q. The main page of The Lounge is blue and red in colour, but when I move away from the page this layout changes, Should it look like that, or keep the same colour scheme?

A. This is a common problem. If you forum doesn't look snazzy dark blue with red on it...then you need to access your profile, modify it, go to the tab headed "options" and then go to where it asks you what template you want the forum to use. It should say "flcnycforum2" as the template. If it doesn't, change it to this and then your forum will look beautiful again!

If you have any problems doing this, then do shout, as one of us admin folks will be able to help you out.

 

Q. I tried to sign up - but I haven't received a confirmation e-mail. Where is it?

A. If you have signed up, but your confirmation email never turned arrived, check your junk mail folder incase it has been diverted in to there. Please note that the e-mail will be sent by 'The Lounge' rather than flcnyc.co.uk
 
If it hasn't arrived, please feel free to send an email to flcnyc@hotmail.co.uk with the handle you want to use for this site and we'll happily create an account for you and email you back with a password which you can change when you log in!

 

Q. I can't seem to log into The Lounge... why?

A. If you type in your log-in details and your name turns up on the Members Online list, but you can't actually post, you need to alter your internet options a little so that you can accept cookies.
 
With Internet Explorer this means dropping it from High to Medium, and with Firefox this means making sure the box is checked to accept cookies.
